This Christmas we have the opportunity to come alongside Meals on Wheels in Dickson county, right outside of Fairview. They currently serve about 125 meals daily to elderly people in need. Many of the elderly, who receive Meals on Wheels rely on this as their main source of food. They have hot meals delivered two to three times per week and many have to ration these to last for the entire week. We will be putting together boxes of food and essentials items to deliver before Christmas.

WAYS TO GET INVOLVED:

• Give financially toward this project (note Meals on Wheels). We estimate that each box will cost $30 and we hope to pack 40 boxes.

• Purchase items to fill a box (see list of suggestions below).

• Help pack the boxes. Delivered between 12/19-21. Exact date to be announced.

GIFT BOX IDEAS:
Peanut butter, canned soup/stew/chili, canned fruit/dried fruit, canned vegetables, canned beans, canned chicken, applesauce, rice, pasta, crackers, granola bars, instant mashed potatoes, ramen noodles, pudding, jello, pretzels, popcorn, nuts, cereal, shelf stable/powdered milk - you could also include items like paper towels, kleenex and lotion.
